Abstract:
The Open University is not only an important measure to build a lifelong learning education system that serves the whole people, but also an inevitable choice for the transformation and development of the Open University in the new era, and an inclusive way to meet the spiritual life needs of the contemporary elderly. The learnercentered educational goal of the open universities is in line with the life of education for the elderly, its open and flexible educational mode is in line with the individualized education for the elderly, and its inclusive learning support service system is in line with the universal education for the elderly. The open universities should take modern lifelong education with Chinese characteristics and lifelong learning as the core concept, take the elderly and the correlative elderly group as the universal benefit, and take the community elderly education as the core channel. At present, the open universities is mainly affected by the following aspects: the management mechanism of the Traditional University for the Elderly hinders the design and innovation of the open university system, the urban and rural “Matthew effect” of the elderly education hinders the realization of the equity of the Open University education, and the existing imitation school education teaching mode of the elderly education hinders the innovation and development of the open university education. Therefore, the open universities should clarify the positioning of the times and lead a new leap in the management of the open universities with the concept of education for the elderly; Merging with community education for the elderly, mobilizing multiple subjects and resources to discuss and jointly build a learning service station for the elderly; Make up for the shortcomings of teaching and research, and create an open university version of the “industry-university-research-evaluation” lifelong learning education system for the elderly.
